    Quite a challenge
The one in the other thread had a more extreme curve, doesn't it?

The Razor has been taken down from auction just now so the seller can do some further restoration work on it .. Not that it needs it IMHO .

All I can say is be prepared to dig deep gents ....
    I really want this razor

    Good luck Garry

    Al raz.
No, looks like Telly was only hoping to win that one, but at the end was outbid. That one is a lot curvier too.

I recently sold one of my larger smileys (a bit less pronounced than this one) and it was not a problem at all. As long as the razor is ground well and doesn't have bad hone wear it seems just fine. Even slight warping on a straight blade is much worse to hone than a nice even smile.

As pretty as some of those heavily smiling blades are, I don't think it would be worth the hassle it would surely give me honing it.

<---- That would be me trying to get an even bevel on that razor.

Actually, honing such a blade is not terribly different from honing a regular blade if you use the 'rolling X' method of honing. In fact, I find big smiles easier because any warp that might exist will not have an effect, as long as the warping is lesser than the smile.

Ok guys ... cards are on the table for this one . I've mentioned once or twice on the chat that I'd really like this razor .. Auction ends today with only one bidder. so I'm guessing theres a load of snipes waiting !!
    ......................
So I'm putting my money where my mouth is
I've taken my snipe off and placed a real bid .
Get get any more honest that ..... I really hope I'm out bid and not sniped by someone who reads this . but hey all fair in the world of ebay . if at all I'm out bid ..

    Cheers Garry

How does one hone a razor like this? Spine flat on the hone and then a rolling X movement?
