Thread: English Shaving Company razors

I have a question for someone who is familiar with the English Shaving Company. I am looking at their Dovo Straight Razor with genuine Ebony handle and I was wondering if anyone knew if their razors are shave-ready or pre-sharpened. Don't know, but I kind of doubt it. Their litature on the subject is pretty archaic too.

A Dovo usually needs to be honed prior to use. You could ask them if they hone them before shipping.

One thing I have learned, if something is not advertised as "something good", then it isn't.

And they say on the page it needs sharpened.

I can answer as I have that very razor from that very company. It's a very nice razor, but it was NOT shave ready. I sent to Steve at The Invisible Edge who honed it for me.
