    Default H. Boker Solingen

After looking for vintage razors on ebay, I called up my local antique store.
lo and behold, he was selling Solingen razors by the half-dozen, all for 8-22 dollars.

I purchased this King Cutter for 10 dollars. A fair bit better than the 200 my brother paid for his Solingen.

The wooden traveling case was 4. What can you tell me about this brand, age and what of the condition?

The Boker King Cutter is an excellent razor. That one looks like ir dates from 1920 - 1940. The condition looks OK too.

    Nice Score

    Hi there.
It not bad. There's a bit of a frown that needs honing out. It would polish up well too, if you care to do it, otherwise, hone it, & you can use it just as it is.
It's worth trying a search rather than simply asking for the information. Bokers are a very good brand & there's a wealth of information on them. Give it a go & see what you find!

    Thanks for the info!

Yes I noticed the frown after I got it home.

It was kind of disappointing. How hard would it be to get it back to a usable edge?

It doesn't look that bad. Depends on what stones you have i guess. You'll want the full range, from aggressive to remove it up to whatever you wan't to shave off, so a minimum of 8k.

Very nice score and even better price!! With a little work to restore the edge and get the frown our you'll be set. Add a little Maas and some elbow grease and you'll have a great looking razor. Love to see these antique shop finds. Now my RAD is in full bloom. Thanks for sharing!!

That one was made between 1924 and 1935 according to the tree shape on the tang.
