Temperites have me confused
I've seen two different sets of stampings on Temperite blades, and I'm wondering if anyone has any information.
I've had two that were stamped "Temperite Trade Mark" on the front of the tang and "Made In the USA By Case" on the back.
I just recently got one that is stamped "Temperite Hand Forged" on the front of the tang and English Steel" on the back.
Are the different stampings indicative of production dates? I thought Case always used American steel? Was Temperite different from Case at some point?
Any information would be appreciated.

I too have one of the "hand forged", "English steel".
Can't wait for an answer.

Interesting. I was unaware of the "Hand Forged, English Steel" variety. My Case brand Temperite has been my go-to razor for quite a while, since it seems that you simply can't put a bad edge on it. The Wonderedge that Glen brought back to life may be the only thing that can take its place.

Not sure if this will add to the confusion or help things, but take a look at this one that was up on ebay: RED IMP WEDGE Straight Razor HAND FORGED - eBay (item 330344005206 end time Jul-19-09 18:30:00 PDT)
Says 132 in the normal spot and "Red Imp Wedge" on the front of the tang and has "Hand Forged" on the back. No mention of a manufacturer, Case or otherwise.
