    Default K- Town Torpedo?

I found a Razor today with the name C. Melcher Knoxville Tenn. on the back side. With a good magnifier about the only word on the bottom line I could make out was Germany. On the show side it has the twins and a Torpedo. Under it it says REG. US PAT. OFF. Does anyone have any intel on a Torpedo? How about on Mr. C. Melcher? I bought this as a novility since I live in Knoxville but now I'm curious can this make a nice shaver?

    Any help is always appreciated.

Most likely "Torpedo" is a trademark of Zwilling J.A.Henckels.
Carl Melcher has founded factory in 1854 in Solingen.
Probably he exported Henckels razors to America. And in Knoxville, Tennessee he had an office.

+1 on the Torpedo being a Henckel's trademark. I have one with only the Henckel's Twins and the torpedo stamped on the tang. Great razor, too.

A bit more stuff (in Russian) here: Translation result for http://www.razors.ru/articles/producers/melcher.php.

Interestingly, one Melcher (no first name) is listed as a Meister working for Ern: Translation result for http://www.zeitspurensuche.de/02/koti14e.htm. I have no idea what a Kniep is, though, but it is certainly not a razor, as only Reinhard Ern and Wilhelm Grah are listed for that.

Would you mind putting your razor into our database? We can then fill in the information in the page for the manufacturer.

    Regards,
    Robin

Ok, Per BeBerlin's request I just made this the first razor I've added to the database. Wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I did see one issue though, Still being new at this some of the questions I had to take my best guess at. A help menu that shows the different points, grinds, scales, ect. would be helpful for those of us who are still learning.

Here's where it is Zwilling J A Henckels ""Torpedo"" 5/8 - Straight Razor Place Wiki
