Default Missing link between Fromm and Red Point

So we've all seen the Fromm's with a circle and crossed fromm's like the dorko thing. And most of those circles were red, though some were blue. And we've seen the Red Point razors.
ANTIQUE RED POINT STRAIGHT RAZOR FROMM BROS NEWARK NJ - eBay (item 270419913442 end time Jul-09-09 19:31:03 PDT)
I give you a red point, not a "real red point" just yet, but a red point, with a fromm blade, and the pins seem original. I didn't buy it, but it seems fromm became/was bought out by red point.

I've seen quite a few cross over blades. I have a couple that say "dubl duck dwarf" stamped on one side of the tang, "dubl duck pearlduck" stamped on the other side and " Dovo-extra" printed on the blade. I think what were seeing is one company buying up the stock from companies that are going out of business and using it without making any changes . I have 2 Fromm razors with the circle and cross on the scales that I bought brand new from a barber supply a few years ago. The razor you linked to may be Fromm using scales that they aquired from Redpoint, or they may have merged companies.

Yeah. Thats what I thought. That's why I felt it should be posted... this could be from the merger point of Fromm and Red Point.

I have seen several with Puma on one side and Dubl Duck on the other. Most of these companies had their blanks made at one of just a few foundries and out of the same steel. I think in some cases they just used part of the wrong die set when they were forged. This is just speculation though.

    Yup.
Anyway... just thought it was a cool find. Someone else bought it so...
