NTS could be a brand now that I think about it.
First Class is a popular goldwash on a lot of Solingen blades. I believe Dovo uses it a lot.

at $1 I might have to try lol.

Hm..., if it cost 1 U$D, give it a try.
As for the manufacturing, and stamping: I red somewhere, that the German law says: If the razor/knife/scissors, etc. was ASSEMBLED in solingen, the factory is allowed to mark it as a Solingen blade.
So, if the blade was forged in China, pakistan, or anywhere else, but they put the scale on in Solingen, the can legally sell it as made in solingen.

I had heard this too, and believed that only applied to handles. Hmmm. The thing is it sonly a $1, but plus $5 shipping its $6, and 2x $6 is $12, which is what I can get a nice vintage Solingen for if I look hard enough...

The seller is also selling Hen & Rooster blades for $60, and this particular Solingen in question he wants $30 for so... but he is also selling Szco. the H&R are legit, apparently ground by Dovo, the Szco are the worst **** ever, and so now we have a mystery in the middle. Hmmm.

    I wouldn't pay 30 bucks for a mystery razor...

If I were you I would do the 2 for 12 deal and see how it pans out. If you do, please keep me informed even if no one else is interested. I've often wondered if any of the ultra budget blades out there are in fact passable but can't afford to take the risk right now.

Jeez, can't say here. There's an old time knife shop near me that has similar blades but i just can't bring myself to make the jump. Not least because the vintage blades sold on the nearby flea market are a fraction of the price. I really want to use the shop too, I haven't seen one like that since I was a kid (a long time ago).

@ SavantStrike- budget blades- This will get me shot by other members ()
    but
I have heard the people are getting good/passable shaves off of these blades, which are all chinese/probable chinese:
    Double Arrow
    Sanguine Coolcut 2
    Fromm
Never used them, and I'm no expert. But if you start looking around here you'll find that people who have tried them find they work (and in some cases are even good), though YMMV.
If you're on a slightly larger budget, a Wapi or cheap Dovo may be better though.

I was in Cape Town recently & stumbled over this place. It looked wonderful & i was so excited that my wife took me in. Very nice & helpful, but what a disappointment. They had another blade too. It had been ground with 80 grit or something & left at that. Scales didn't fit, wonky grind, blade wasn't centred & it looked like you wouldn't pay $5 for it. The final insult was that it was R1 500 ($180)! I couldn't even bring myself to buy anything else as it was all so expensive.

funny you should mention Cape Town as I am South African. I might have my uncle step in there for me, unless everything is total junk.

Where from? My wife's South African. Latest trip over was the most amazing so far!
Everything was expensive in that shop & just not quite up to the luxury standards we seem to demand. They have nothing there you can't get cheaper where you are. It is nice to have a nose round though with a great atmosphere & it's at the waterfront, so nice location.
