    Default Joseph Rogers & Sons

    Hello!

I am negotiating a razor Joseph Rogers & Sons 8 / 8, in good condition for $ 110, what do you think of the razor and the price?

    Thanks
    Ale

Another member was looking at that. Here's the thread.
It may be a bargain, or it may be far too much. You'll only know when you've got in in your hands I'm afraid.

    But this razor is good?
I just know Dovo, Filarmonica and, I am here in Brazil and is not to sell razors, for example I buy a one Dovo of $ 80 in Classic Shaving, with the tax and fees will cost me $ 145, and this razor if it is good for $ 110.
Problem or do I have to shave lasts, the SRP's friends told me that a razor 8 / 8 is better in this case.
    Please help me.
    Thanks
    Ale

I like my JR just fine. It is a 6/8 I believe. The one you are looking at looks good. Price is hard to evaluate. A lot depends on what you can get around where you live.

8/8 Razors are convenient, I like to have a shave with such razors. But I know many people who could not use such razors, they are big enough and heavy.

It's quality steel, but you may find it needs work. After seeing what you've done already, I'm sure you're capable, but you should factor that into the price. Without seeing it first hand, that's not easy to do. That's probably why no one's really made comment on whether the price is good so far.

Look at the last picture just behind the toe. The edge appears to have a nick in the blade. Otherwise the price is pretty subjective but it is a quality brand and a desireable size. I'd want to check that nick but disregarding that I'd pay that for it I imagine. Even though the nick can be honed out that price would have to come down if that is indeed a nick in the blade.

That is a nice looking razor. It may be a 7/8 but I seriously doubt it is an 8/8.

    Good morning!
This razor is 25mm, I think it is being size 8 / 8, if you convert 25mm to inches of exactly 1 inch, ie 8 / 8?
    Thanks
    Ale
