Thanked: 0Help with "unbranded" Solingen...
All,
I am a NOOB. I have a straight razor that I "acquired" but I cannot figure out the manufacturer. There is only 1 stamp that reads "Solingen Razor Co Germany".
Any and all help in identification would be greatly appreciated.

Thanked: 13245When I first opened this thread I expected to see an obvious Pakistani or Chinese POS razor.... Now with the pics you posted I am not so sure...That looks like a real razor there...
The two people the have tons of razor brand knowledge are of course Lynn who has seen just about all of them and JMS/Mark who has the uncanny ability to find the stamps in his various books of cutlery markings...
Hopefully they can help you more I haven't ever seen one of these...

I'm always suspect when it says Germany as opposed to made in Germany. Somtimes they import them into Germany and then they become German razors. However I'm not familiar with that one.

There is a current production razor out there that just says Solingen and its legit.
From the looks this looks legit. The tang stamping is not a cheap laser etching for one.
