Modern 1/4 grind or Wedge?
It seems like most modern razors (Dovo, TI, Wapi, ...) are only available are full hollow grinds. Are there any modern razors offered in wedge or 1/4 grind? I would be looking for something along the lines of a 6/8 to 8/8. Thanks.

Vintage Blades has these Dovo:
Vintage Blades LLC :: Dovo...
I have a Thiers Issard LeDandy that is, at least a 1/4 hollow but in 5/8. Wacker makes one or two that are not full hollow too:
Art.Nr.1029.
Not sure the Wapis are in production. The one I have is pretty thick like a 1/2 grind, at least 1/4 for sure. I think John Crowley has some NOS in 5/8: 5/8 Wapienica French Point - nickel plated steel handles : Shaving Shop - luxury classic wet shaving products - straight razors
You should not have problems finding the razor you are looking for.

yes they are out there you just have to look for them. Finding one in like 8/8s is more difficult. There are actually few true wedges most are partly hollow even if very minor. You need to look for the big meatchoppers for a true wedge.

Awesome, thanks everyone!! I have a particularly thick beard. My Dovo gets through it OK, but I want to see if a 1/4 grind makes a difference. I ordered the Wapi to try it out.

If you can swing it, I would buy a Le Grelot 1/4 grind. There's is no chance you'll regret it. It is a 6/8 beefy beautiful razor. And it shaves like a dream.

Cant afford the Le Grelot right now, but next month for sure. I suspect that the Wapi will give me an clue on how the shallower grinds feel.
