Default A good find? The price seemed right!

I am on a business trip to the Los Angeles area today and during a sales meeting I was surfing SRP (What else would I be doing? ). I happened to find my way to Craigslist, and searched "straight razor". 6 adds popped up, a couple for trucks that had razor tires and straight axles apparently, and a couple RC cars that fit the search, and then one razor. Title said Horstator straight razor $20. YAHTZEE! I clicked on the ad, and there was a nice looking razor, listed in brand new condition (only used 2 times since it was bought new), for $20! I called the phone number and drove over after the meeting. The guy bought it a few years back and tried twice, but didn't like the whole idea so he wanted to sell it before he moved.

Did I get a good deal? It appears to be completely brand new with not a flaw on it anyplace. Here are a couple photos.

I don't know the brand, but most vintage blades out of Solingen are at least good shavers. That one seems to have very little wear, and she's a prety good looking blade too. Gold wash isn't my thing, but I dig the scales. I'd say you got a great buy.

That etch looks VERY similar to the one on my 'Heartring'

    Nice find.

Infact, it looks exactly the same.

Very nice! I'd have bought that for $20 for sure. I don't know the brand, but as holli says, if it's from solingen it will almost definitely be a good shaver.

My two best buys were NOS Solingens one at $15 one at $20, and they didn't even look quite that good. Great buy!

Very nice razor! Love the cracked ice scales. I have never seen a bad 3 pin Solingen razor. Good score and a great price.
