Thanked: 190What are your top 3 straight razors?
Since a lot of SRP members have a collection of straights it would be great to hear from everyone on what their top three straights are and a quick note why?
Example:
A) Dovo No. 55 - NOS/Limited Qty and big time performer.
B) Dovo Special Tortoise - Always gives a good shave, very forgiving, & takes an edge well.
C) Robert Williams - 2" blade, custom, high performer and American made!

8/8 George Savage & Sons; wedge, muted square point - First expensive blade I bought and a hell of a shaver
6/8 W Greaves & Son's; quarter hollow, large notch/Spanish point, thumb and index notches - A beautiful looking blade and a hell of a shaver
W. Revitt; reground to full hollow, muted square point - Lightest in my rotation, but she's very nimble and a go-to blade cause she's a hell of a shaver

This thread needs pictures lol. That being said: My top 3 (at the moment-these things could change when you obtain another razor)
Wade & Butcher "Barbers Rattler 7/8, this one is the perfect weight, not too heavy, not too light.
Expert Barber 400,I wouldn't mind having a 7 day set of these.
The third is a tie, I can't choose between the two.
Joseph Rodgers & Sons "Dutch Hollow Ground" 6/8
Timor 8/8 Hamburg Ring

A. Filarmonica 14 Barba Duras 8/8 ~ perfection
B. Thiers Issard Pierre Thiers Limited Edition aka TIPTLE ~ very few razors can achieve that level of shaving quality.
C. Genco Easy Aces ~ cracked ice scales. Pure sexy beauty and high shaving qualities.

1. Thomas Turton & Sons 6/8 wedge - first really fancy expensive razor. It's a nice heavy wedge and Alex Jacques did a beautiful job restoring it. My #1 shaver and #1 looker.
2. Henry Hobson wedge - approx. 11/16 - first wedge I bought over 5/8 and learned to hone. Love the french point; makes it nice for the details around my goatee and sideburns.
3. Dovo ebony handled spike point - 5/8 - first razor I bought, first razor I learned to hone on, and still one of my most enjoyable shavers. Great for detail work.

In no specific order...
I) Filarmonica #13 in horn scales makes the shave easy, not sure why. just gets the job done. A-and now that Max has dressed it up so nicely, I am set for life.
II) C.V. Heljestrand MK 31 in ivory like a super light strong sports car, i can feel the terrain and maneuver very responsively. strange experience really...
III) Filarmonica Especial Para Barbas Duras in original scales even easier than the #13, not sure why, yet.

Thanked: 235Right at this moment these are my favorite three.
They are (in no particular order) a Bengall square point, a Warranted with tortoise shell scales and a Vom Cleff with what I think is either bone or ivory scales.
