Default Help newbie ID a razor

    Hi everyone,
I have been dwelling in wet shaving areas for quite some time now, but only now have I acquired a straight razor. I was looking for a dirt cheap razor to practice honing and I got this Joseph Rodgers and sons for a couple of bucks. The blade is in a relative good shape. no dents or scratches or rust. It looks like a wedge or a very very slight hollow grind. I have been able to restrict it's likely production year within the victorian era. The scales are in a bad shape and I can't really tell what material they are from. Can anyone help me know a little bit more about this razor and what should I do with it: restore it or keep it as is and practice with it?

    Thank you

    Regards,

    David C
