Either the manufacturer was dyslexic, or this is a fake.

Let me put it this way: That goldwash is the worst I've ever seen. Diament is neither German nor English. The razor does not come up on google when searching the German forums for "birko +rasiermesser". Maybe I'm wrong, and I hope I am.

Strange, you would think if they wanted to fake something, it would be a well known and worth the hassle.

    I just found this:
Otto Birkhofen, Solingen-Wald, Wiedenkamperstrasse 18 in 1939. Brand names: 'Albertoblade', 'Birko', 'Doppelschmied', 'OBW', 'Polo', 'Thonoco', 'Umberto'. Open-blade razor maker.

DO you have it, or are you thinking about buying it, or what?

I agree, a knockoff of an unheard of brand sounds unlikely. And some razor makers certainly made mistakes/talked out of their a$$es (I have a near-wedge that is clearly marked "Full Hollow Ground") so misspelled words aren't a huge worry for me. I would say, unless it's super pricey, give it a try. You could have the next Dubl Duck! (Speaking of dyslexia)...

How did it do? That's the main concern.
