    Default Eagle Confusion

    Hi,

Im new to the world of the st8 shave, and I'm absolutly fasinated with the tradition and skill required

My partners Great Aunt gave me a old straight when I was discussing wanting to get my hands on some old blades to learn how to hone on, the razor that she gave me looks identical to the Improved eagle razor except instead of having improved it's got Electric there instead, I've spent sometime scowering the web and really havn't been able to find anything with The Electric Eagle Razor... Anyone able to help with identifying it...

    A) I don't want to destroy it,
    B) If it's worth something, I'd like to at least offer her something for it,
    C) I'd like to restore the blade and replace the scales and would like to checkout other blades from the same area etc..

I'm at work for the next 15 hrs, so wont be able to post any pics till i get home from work, I'm affraid...

    Thanks inadvance

    Shannon

The Electric Cutlery Co is the only one that sounds similar that I know.

    ELECTRIC
Used by Friedman & Lauterjung, New York City ca. 1873-1890.
Moved to Newark, New Jersey from ca 1890-1910. Moved to Walden,
    New York ca. 1910-1920
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thx for the replies, My partners taking some pictures for me and being them in to work, so I'll have some pic's up in the next couple of hours... I didn't see the electric symbol on the razor any where... so not sure if it's the right company or not...

This razor from the end of 1800's or later.
What on the other side of the tang?

I might be wrong but I believe Friedman was the importer/marketer and they were made by Lauterjung (predecessor to Puma) in Solingen.
