Joseph Elliot acquisition
Saw this and liked the scales, even though they're warped. Then found out it was a Joseph Elliot that was in pretty good condition and even shaved my arm hair. I was hooked. It looks to have a metal spacer. Maybe since this is (I think) pre 1900 it's lead?
Also, every other Elliot I've seen says "Best Silver Steel" while this one just says "Silver Steel". Anyone know why?
I'll clean it up a little and take some more photos soon.

Thanked: 151I don't know the answer to your question as I have had one that said silver steel. I think that is a great find. The scales can probably be fixed with a little patience. great find, and if its sharp in that condition, just wait till you make a few passes on your hones.
Good Luck, that is a great piece with really neat artwork.

It seems like all of the coolest looking razors I've come across have been Joseph Elliot razors. I swear, that dude was thinking outside the box back in his day
Nice razor!
