    I once had a blade that had two colors like that. There was also some light rust, so I went at it with steel wool. Turned out the blade was just somehow stained funny...

    I would be carefull,if you press too hard near a the edge it could result in breaking off a piece of the blade.Maybe something with more of a point(scriber tip)The other way is an etchant such as vinegar or circuit board etchant.Again,this is destructive testing and unless you can control it in a small area it may leave a small stain.

    A section of a "Showato" etched with circuit board solution then cleaned with NevrDull.note the contrast from the "whitened" hard edge and the non-hardened area above.

    This is correct information - it is nickle plating. It makes them very hard to restore.

    I believe this razor has been reground. You see the nickle above where it was reground.
