Thanked: 235Another coochie razor
I had previously made this Coochie razor.
Well, I'm at it again. This one is a razor marked ACME and Made in Sweden. I had separated it from the rest of my razors because I suspected celluloid rot and then forgot about it. When I remembered it my concerns about scale rot were confirmed by the rust. Once again my only tools are a diamond file and what we Australians call Blue tack (a re-usable adhesive putty). I'm thinking of shaping the new toe on to a barbers notch.
Because the scales on this one were rotting, this is going to be scaled in orange opaque scales which were kindly donated by Singlewedge.

Given the future use of the blade. Are you sure you want a spike point on that thing? lol What's the putty for? Did you use it to secure the blade while you cut?

Thanked: 235I haven't quite finished it yet. I still have to shape the toe. I'm going to shape it into a bargers notch with a slightly rounded point.
And the putty was to hold it steady on my desk while I cut it. One dolup on each side of the cut. It worked really well as it only took about two hours to get through it.

Thanked: 235Originally I wasn't going to buy this razor because it was an ACME, but when I saw Made in Sweden I thought it was worth a try.

Thanked: 235Here is the progress so far. I have completed the barbers notch and given it a little polish. Now I just have to get the scales ready, re-pin and hone.
