    Default New Finds

Spent some time cruising the flea markets and antique shops today and found a couple of interesting razors. This first one is a Torrey 992 it has some pitting that I hope can be removed without losing the 992 on the blade.

The other has broken scales but the blade was in great shape. The show side has No 1448 EXCELSIOR on it while the other has SIMMONS HDWE Co, INC with Germany and a capitol E under that. I'm gonna have to make scales for this one but it should be worth it. I do need to learn how to pin, can someone show me to a WIKI link on the subject. I hoping both of these turn out good.

I'd like to know more about both of these razors I did spot a 992 in the data base and I love the way it looks. Any information would be appreciated.

Glen's excellent tutorial on unpinning and repinning a razor can be found here.

Glen's tutorial is excellent, but as I see these razors not need to repin.=)

I've got the same model Torrey 992 with the same scales and pearl covered tang. Smooth shaver. The other ought to make a good shaver too. Nice finds.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

That one's yours? Dude that's nice! I don't know if that level is possible with this one. It will be fun seeing just how it turns out.

I have one similar to yours. It's a great shaver. http://straightrazorpalace.com/show-...tml#post416546
