Thread: Le Grelot

Can anyone explain why it seems a 1/4 grind is preferred to a 3/4? Is there a big difference in the quality of shave? From everything I've read a wedge or 1/4 grind is better for thicker longer beards. Also, is it more difficult to sharpen and hone a wedge?

For me, full hollows flex more against my coarse whiskers. As a result, I get razor burn and tiny nicks. When I use a half hollow or a wedge, this doesn't seem to happen at all.
