    Default Work horse

    So,

I had Robert Williams make me a "Work Horse" razor. The toughest steel he has, S30V. In black micarta scales. 8/8 half hollow. Top and bottom jimps.

It is here. It is a work of friggen art. Exactly what I wanted.

D'Oh. Sorry guys. I've got to figure out a way to get it posted from my e-mails. I can't access any photo hosting sites from work.
I'll give a hint. It looks like black micarta with jimps, a worked spine, 8/8 blade.

And in case anyone was wondering, it shaves REAL nice. I had gotten a close "I've got a big meeting" three plus pass BBS wednesday norning, so today didn't promise to be a good shave. It was.

I can see what Robert has said about this steel. It takes a great edge, was fantastically sharp and well honed right out of the box (he is a bit modest, I feel, about how "perfect" the edge might be when it arrives). I got a close, very, very nice shave, and cant wait to see how it handles a little more growth. It did not feel quite as smooth as the HCS blade of Robert's that I had the opportunity to shave with recently, but that's like saying your Porsche isn't as fast as your Bugatti...no, but it's still damned nice! The shave was as smooth and comfortable as the majority of my shave ready high quality razors, if not smoother. Add to that the other characteristics for which this steel is known, and I am beyond pleased.
