    Default Cool Birthday Gift

Yesterday for my birthday my dad surprised me with a really cool gift. First is this brush: and then the razor: And the combo: heres what I know; The brush and scales were both made from the same piece of wood. I don't remember the exact type of wood though . They were made by a customer of my father's (he owns and operates a Woodcraft woodworking and supply store) The Man's name is Dave Stephens. The blade actually came from an antique store north of Borea, Kentucky. I found it in a messy display case for $5, it was not in the best shape but it wasn't bent or chipped so I grabbed it. apart from that, I know nothing more than it shaves well, it feels good in my hand, though its a big guy, and it was refurbished specifically for me. Its absolutely beautiful too! funny though, I am in college, and I was shaving last night with it. I have been razorless for about 2 weeks and don't want to use a saftey razor as it tears me up. So, I am stropping the blade and letting the water heat up in my floor's bathroom got my lather all whipped up but not on my face yet. A freshman (I am a sophomore) walks in sees me stropping and runs out, about 45 seconds later my RA runs into the bathroom with a binder of papers entitled "suicide prevention and interception". at this point I just had to laugh, apparently this freshman had never seen someone shave like this... My RA was almost immediately explaining that this is I shave. it was an interesting evening really, I got to shave with a new razor for the first time in front of about 20 freshman guys who were completely at a loss for words and now claim that I have earned "man points". but the moral of the story is, I got a new razor and brush!!! if anyone knows anything about this kind of razor let me know! ~Casey

Its really cool to be "that guy" on the floor. They pretty much see me as a total classic gent for all the things that I don't do in accordence with the current time period.
