Thanked: 522Imperial razor, Germany
Has anyone ever run into Imperial Razors, made in Germany in the first half of the twentieth century? I was in a Mennonite gift shop in the mid sixties and was able to purchase one of these fully hollow ground razors NOS and it is one of my favorite shavers to this day. It has no shoulder and is etched "FULLY HOLLOW GROUND" with black plastic scales and a white spacer. The blade has a slight smile and is relatively easy to hone.
I bought it NOS in the coffin which was marked $3.00 which is what the nice lady charged me.. I think it was a great find.....

Thanked: 522Traskrom photo
Traskrom's photo of his IMPERIAL razor seems to be identical to my razor. The tang stamp looks identical. The only difference I can see is that his is etched "EXTRA HOLLOW GROUND" and mine is etched "FULLY HOLLOW GROUND".
I'm glad that everyone seems to agree that they are great shavers and easy to hone. If I was a razor maker, I would try to copy the design and the steel recipe.
