Default Worth more in its original packaging or unwrapped?

I'm thinking about getting rid of the middle unwrapped one pictured but am unsure if it would be better to leave it wrapped or unwrapped? I can tell it's a different color but nothing else.

I'm just looking for honest opinions

I guess from a "collector" point of view, it might be worth more still wrapped.

That goes for just about anything "collectible."

For me, I would not pay more for it just to be the one to open the plastic if I planned on using it. And I would never buy a razor just to let it sit around on a shelf somewhere, but that's just me

If I was buying I would want to see the blade and the scales before I plunked down the hard earned greenbacks.

Very true Jimmy, I'd have to accept returns in case it wasn't in good shape. From the look of the other 2 I'd imagine it's in great shape though which is why they're in the picture

I'm pretty sure that with most NOS blades that seem to be selling at the moment, they are unwrapped for a picture and then re-wrapped. Search for Fillies on Fee-Bay, and I'm sure you'll see how they do it.

The one's I've seen have been in plastic, this is like a wax paper. I'll have to look a little deeper.

Is it sealed? It looks from the picture to only be twisted at the end. If so, what would be harmed in untwisting and carefully extracting the razor from the wrap? Doubtful even a true collector would buy a razor sight unseen and upon receipt put the razor still wrapped away in a box or something (who would display a wrapped razor??). My intent is not to be critical or burst a bubble, I'm just asking an honest question. There were seemingly a myriad of Solingen branded razors and this appears to be one of them. Solingen razors are as a group, are my favorite types of razors. That said, even a mint wrapped NOS Solingen brand IMO wouldn't have a significantly higher value if it was wrapped or unwrapped (with wrapping still included) unless it was one of the Solingen brands that are highly sought after. Even if it was unwrapped, most can tell if a razor has ever been honed or if it's truly in its factory condition. Again, IMO, that's what would count regarding value more than intact wrapping for this type of razor. That's just my two cents.

Some of you may remember, it was two or three years ago a guy who claimed to be a relative of the owners of Bresduck/Pearlduck listed a Goldedge sealed in the box on ebay. He displayed another and said that these were from his uncle or whatever. It went for arouind $600 ..... again IIRC and the item being sold never left the box.

And I thought an SRP member came forward and revealed that he bought it. I could be wrong, but was it Manah? I wonder if the buyer of that Goldedge opened it? IIRC that one was literally sealed rather than wax paper twisted closed.

He was the grandson of Pearlman of Pearlduck, (1952-1957). What is IIRC?
