Default Just won an auction - What do you guys think?

    Hi folks,

Just won a Heljestrand razor marked "4".

What do you think of it?
The seller told me in an email that the razor has probably never been used.

Rakkniv Heljestrand Eskilstuna på Tradera. Rakning | Samlarsaker

    Payed 32 USD for it.

    Was it a good purchase?

    Greetings from Sweden,
    Carl

I saw that one too, I think you got yourself a very nice razor. I got one myself. Heljestrand is one of my fav brands.

I really didn't think that people from other countries checked tradera.

    Cool!

Thanks for letting me have it!

Same here, registration was denied. Those #4's are pretty sweet. Mine measures close to 6/8, bigger than an MK 31. And the price is even sweeter! That should hone up and shave you quite well.

So... who's bidding on the Othello?

Registering wasn't easy but they are willing to help. I can't remember what the problem was. I bought quite a few of my best razors on tradera. Prices have gone up considerably since tradera has been mentioned on SRP couple of times. It used to be a well kept secret. One of the problems is that many vendors specify they only want to sell within Sweden or the Nordic countries.

    Default Got the razor today!

Just got to say the razor looks fantastic!

It got a couple of dark spots, but nothing ye olde autosol can't take care of.
    I'm sure it isn't rust.

The overall impression is that the knife has never been used, or only a few times.

Going to post some pics of it when i find my camera.

A thing i noticed is that it hasn't got the MK written on it.

Just "No 4". Does this mean anything?

    Cheers!

I've got one marked 'No 24' with no MK. I don't know what the "MK" signifies, maybe something to do with the King ? The MK marked Heljes I have are also marked with 3 crowns.

From what I've seen, I think the MK signifies a collaboration of some kind. This picture here seems to indicate the three crowns, and MK as M. Kindal, a French company or a Swedish company with a French address.
Perhaps ol' Heljestrand visited some Parisian razor makers and made some friends? In the brief history lesson JimmyHAD links to here, they mention one of the Heljestrand sons living in France making surgical instruments with Charriere.

The french below translates into Swedish Cutlery.

    Hmmm.

    Interesting - and look, there's even a "33"

What is that a picture of?
