    Default Robert Williams in Ivory

Well, I got my second custom. I picked this one up second hand, which does not bother me in the least. I gave it pass on the wheels to clean it up. A little white rogue, a little red, a touch of MAAS and it looks new. It took out all the use marks from the previous owner.

This is a full wedge, oblique point, hammered tang and tail, worked spine, thumb notched mirror polished blade scaled in pre-ban Ivory with a brass wedge and adjustable pins and an extended tail.

I can tell by the style that is an older razor. It still has that slightly rough look but just adds to the manly primal battle axe look and feel of the razor. The blade is massive. Aside being 8/8, it is thick, over 1/8 inch wide at the spine and is very heavy in the hand.

I gave it a full run on the stones to refresh the edge. Very nice shaving razor and it looks super. The white ivory scales contrast the blade style nicely. Got another Williams forge fresh on the way to compliment this one.

Beautiful spinework! You'll be able to compare Robert's older & more recent work too. Nice position to be in!

I love the spine work on that! Shows the very painstaking attention to detail Mr. Williams takes... most impressive. Congrats!

Old to new and wedge to hollow. The new one is a Spanish point hollow grind in abalone. The ivory wedge is rough and manly, the new one refined and elegant.

A fresh from the maker photo..

I do frequently get a Robert Williams send my way so I get to hone and test shave (actually make it a full shave ) at the same time. Always takes a great edge and the shaves are stellar.

    Gorgeous examples cannonfodder!
