I bought a few of these to store my razors, but find I only use it if I need to take one traveling. They're cheap and very well made and keep the razor snug and safe.

I think this would do the job:

    Amazon.com: 2-cigar Caddy 3140

A piece of pvc pipe of appropriate length would work fine, just dont pack it next to the alarm clock.

I feel that I am going out of my way to take care of my razors, but I don't just leave mine in the bathroom like most people. I travel for work at least 2 weeks per month. I tossed my old Mach3 razor 3 months ago when I started with the straight razor, so that's not an option.

I have to assume that the damage to my razors occurs while traveling. Normally I chose one of my razors for a business trip, I close it and tightly wrap one of my wife's hair ties (those soft feeling rubber band deals) and then I put the razor in the plastic case my Dovo came in. How could it get dings and chips while closed with a rubber band and in a case? I have done a few trips where I didn't put the rubber band on it, but it was still in that plastic case.

So if any of you have other ideas for travelling with my razors, I would love to hear them. Because apparently I am damaging my razors the way I am handling and storing them. What do you do with your razors while you're at home? How do you store them?

    Thanks!

I have one of these Travel Accessories for my spare travel razor (a DOVO Renaissance) and it seems to have kept it in fine shape while tucked away in my Dopp kit. My primary travel razor (a Thiers Issard Special Coiffeur) reposes in one of the TI leather travel gizmos which has a pocket for the razor and also holds a small 2 sided paddle strop. I chose the TI traveler because the paddle stop is leather faced wood = stiff and sturdy. The grip it travels in would have to be really abused before the razor would suffer and I chose a cheap razor just in case it were to suffer. The beauty is that the Special Coiffeur is a very fine shaving tool and I've never had occasion to break out the back up. Which reminds, me I should check it out by running it around my face tomorrow.

    good luck, good shaving

    Hi,

Put rubber band around razor to stop impact opening, then wrap tightly in some bubble wrap.

Has worked so far (tempting fate or what !! ).

    Best regards

    Russ
