I'm with aroliver on this one. So far as I can tell, the number is /16 to measure the blade width. They seem to run a bit big, though.

The 10 was used to cut hair behind neck etc.. to shave i prefer 13 - 6/8 and 14 - 7/8!
If you want an advise..dont bid on a 10.. not worth it - my opinion! Try to score a 13 .."doble temple"..or if you got lucky a "medallon taurino"..diferences..the steel of the doble temple its more hard (double temper)..the medallon its more soft.

Thanks for the advise! Unfortunatelly it came a little bit late. I already won the bid for 40$ including shipping. Since it is not a huge amount of money, I think I am gonna give it a try.

If the main difference between a #10 and a #14 is the width of the blade, I do not mind that that much. Narrow blades are perfect for the mustache! And in my case for the jaw line and the neck, places where I have difficulties with shaving and a small blade is gonna help there I guess.

If Fillies numbers are counted over 16, then a 10/16 is a 5/8... not really that small (now I own 2 6/8, so the difference is not going to be much).

Anyway, I will have to wait until I get the razor to see how big is the blade and how I can shave with it.

Width is the only difference (as far as I know), and blade width is totally a matter of personal preference. I like bigger blades for fun and a 6/8 for day to day use. That said, I've had some 4/8 blades that have been supurb shavers, I'm just not as comfortable with them. You've got to find what works for you, and this Filly should be a great example of a smaller blade so you can figure it out.

Is there any difference in the way to shave (technique) using a wide or narrow blade? I have the feeling a narrow blade is useful for more control while a wide blade can hold more strokes because you rinse it less often.

Anyone who used a narrow blade?

I use the same technique regardless of blade width. I find it harder to maintain a constant angle with a smaller blade (less blade to look at to judge the angle), but those little blades do feel quite nimble.

I shave with medallon taurino 6/8 and don't really understand why people so crazy about large blades like barbas duras. I have one and don't see anything special about it. Yea, it is nice, cool looking blade and nothing more..
