    cant find anything about it on Straight Razor Manufacturers and Dates of Operation

    do you guys have an idea about the dates????

    MANDARIN,, GOEDECKE&Cie-Solingen with a number 42 and the head of a chinese man.
    please help
    what if i want to sand the blade out of some rust ,,what is it that i need to buy??

    Mandarin is the model name. The maker is just one of hundreds of makers back in the day. I have a Duble Duck called the Gold mandarin which also has the head of a Chinese Man. It may very well of been made by the same firm. If that's the case I would guess both your's and mine to be pre WWll maybe early 1930s. If you look at the razor clubs the one for DDs, you will see a picture of it.

    Yes, "Mandarin" is a trademark.
    "Goedecke & Cie" was a part of "Goedecke & Co."(1900 - till WWII), located in Solingen.

    i surfed and found this:
    Goedecke & Co. GmbH, Solingen-Merscheid in 1900 and 1925, Beethovenstrasse 258-60 in 1939. Brand names: 'Monopol', 'Patron'. Open-blade razor maker.

    Goedecke & Cie GmbH, Solingen-Merscheid in 1920 and 1925, Beethovenstrasse 258-60 in 1939. Safety-razor maker.
