My Newest Sweetie
Gentlemen,
I had been considering a new 6/8" razor. In another post, you were gracious enough to offer your thoughts and make excellent suggestions. Thank you for taking the time to advice a straight razor pilgrim.
Finally I made my decision and ordered my choice. A great choice for me, I might add. This is simply a gorgeous razor.
When I meet my newest sweetie, she will be a Heribert Wacker, 6/8" Spanish Point "Antik" with blond buffalo horn scales. I believe she is full hollow.
Gentlemen, this is pure love, and I know we will be happy together. Provided I can avoid poverty lines, since now I am really tapped out.
Let me see, does anyone out there need a writer or a voice narrator? My charges are reasonable. Thank you.
Regards,
Obie

My dear shave guru Lynn,
How right you are. I am driving myself into the poor house. I mean I've had one foot in the doorway for quite some time.
My mind never stops: I am constantly thinking about stories, bits of dialogue I've heard, descriptions of people and places. And straight razors. I have little notebooks scattered all over the house, one by my bed and one in the bathroom, where my little shaving kingdom is located.
Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with a story idea, or a bit of dialogue, and must jot it down. Invariably I also think about the world of the gentleman shaver, from razors to soaps and aftershaves.
This is getting out of hand. Then again, I have never done anything halfheartedly. Whatever I do, I dive into it heart and soul, for that's the only way I know.
Thus the straight razor world.
Regards,
Obie

Great score Obie! I picked up a Wacker last week and was just on the Wacker website looking at the Antik myself. Periodic poverty is sometimes necessary for us to truly appreciate the skill and craftsmanship of those that toiled in order to create the blades we use today. ...at least that's what I tell myself after an expensive buy. But you have what will most likely be your most beloved incoming and that's something to be very excited about. Well done sir!

Obie,
I think you and I may be kindred spirits, I've bought at least a dozen razors in the last months including two Joe Chandler razors and a Robert Williams... My wife swears I'm going to put us in the poor house, but I take solace in the fact that I'll have the best straight razor collection of any bum I ever meet

I believe you've made a good choice there. Oh and follow your bliss and remember this, anything worth doing is worth over doing.
