Default Good new and bad news...

If you all remember, I started a thread last week about a Robert Klaas straight I bought off of ebay for under $10. The tang is stamped "Prussia" on one side and "1408 5/8" on the other. I wasn't expecting much for the price, and it's not the best looker due to a slightly upturned nose from bad honing.

The good news: I got my razor today, and man is it sharp. I did a test pass on my arm just for fun, and because I expected it to be really dull, I did a big pass. It mowed my hair down like a wonder, and it's a much heftier blade than my first straight.

The bad news: I bought this razor to have something to experiment with in terms of scale making and possibly decorating the spine. But it turns out I love it already and I don't want to mess up a good thing.

I guess sometimes you just get lucky like that

Now that's the kind of "bad news" I can handle
