    Default Information on this razor?

Does anyone have any information about a Clear Cut Delux (Geo. Wellington Co.)? There is one for sale in my area that I might get, but it looks like it might need some serious restoration (and I know there are some great people on the forum for that!).

Edit - I can't link to the pic (server)...in any case, thanks for the advice!

In the meantime, I'm having marvelous success with the Pipe that came from Rayman!

On closer inspection of the murky pic, I wonder if it says Wostenholm?

I don't have any info on the razor. But it looks like there may be some chips on the toe of the blade. It's hard to tell for sure. I'm sure you saw that but thought I'd point it out, just in case. Maybe that's what you meant by "serious restoration." Other than that, based on the pictures, the razor looks to be in pretty good shape. Once you have it in hand, you'll know for sure.

If I were you, I would have saved the pictures off the craigslist add and added them to your post. That way you wouldn't have to worry about other people on the forum trying to purchase it. Not that I think all these ladies and gentlemen would do such a thing.... I'm just saying......

Does that make it a likely candidate for breadknifing?

Not unless the edge was REALLY bad. Breadknifing isn't an especially fast or efficacious way to remove chips.... careful flat-honing on a low grit stone would work well. (When the link was up, it looked [to my memory] like the edge was even, not frowning or so...)

Could be. Hard to say from the pics, although I think the second letter is an O and not an E. I would hazard a guess that the scales are hard rubber and not celluloid and perhaps that's MOP on the shank/tang/monkeys tail. Don't know what it would cost for a full restore, but it's definitely worth 15 bucks as it is IMO.
