Default First time shaving with a Duck, life's good!!!

I had another very nice Satinedge lying around and spend some time last night getting it honed up. First thing I noticed was how well it was taking to the stones. It's almost like it just wanted to be wicked sharp or something? Well I did a few strokes with the strop this morning and then went to work, let me just say I finally know what the term 'slicing through warm butter' really means! I couldn't believe it, just like a windshield wiper, unreal! I'm so happy with it I already don't think I could ever part with her.

Yes, Dubl Ducks are quite nice. I have a Goldedge that I picked up at a flea market awhile ago. It cleaned up great and effortlessly took an amazing edge. It hones so easily, I sometimes think all I need do is set it on the hone and it will do the rest itself. I don't know what is different about the steel in these DDs compared to the steel in other Solingen blades, but I like it!

If it were not for their high purchase cost I would say the dubl duck is a wonderful razor to use when learning to hone because they take a good edge so easily
