Today's finds in the Hills of North Carolina.
Today we went to Mt. Airy for seafood and hit some flea markets and antique stores on the way back to 77 via Fancy Gap Va.
Razor 1 is a Torrey with barbers notch w/ original case ( now my other Torrey has a twin )
Razor 2 is a Otto Deutsch HANS. Obviously the blade is crap but I bought it for the scales that are in good enough shape to restore and use on another razor.

The Torrey looks sharp!
I strop my razor with my eyes closed.

yeah, just a minor touch up and it should be ok. No flat spots on the edge.

cool deal man. I love driving in thru Fancy Gap and hitting the markets. Did it as a kid with my parents. Now I share that journey with my wife. Such a Lovely area. We go the Mayflower Seafood place down there every now and then

WARNING! WARNING! I would be very careful about re-using the scales from that Otto Deutsch razor. From the condition of the blade and the texture of the scales, it looks like a massive case of celluloid rot. The definition in your photo is not the clearest, but from what I can see it looks like a terminal case. My advice would be to isolate those scales until you are very sure they are not contaminated.
