I now have three in my regular rotation which include several W&Bs, Wostys and a Boker. GDs, properly honed, rock.

As far as I can tell you can't expect any of the GD's from mr.parko to be honed, and shave ready, but if you get one from Ruprazor, or Mysteryrazor.com you could get one pre-honed.

My GD's shave as well as my vintage blades, and my newer Dovo. While not as good to look at the shave is very nice and smooth. Great razors at an unbeatable price.

When they come fresh from the factory the edge is 95% of the time a bit wavy/mishapen at the heel. I have never had one that I would even consider trying to shave with out of the box (but perhaps that's just my OCD about what is "shave ready" to me).

Once they are honed up, they can in fact be as good a shaver as almost any other razor out there.

Take it for what it's worth, as I am not an unbiased opinion on the subject, but I have had the opportunity to see, handle, hone, modifify, re-scale, etc, etc, many of these beasts. They are not "joke" razors. They certainly are quirky though!

That'll depend on the toughness of your beard, what your stropping is like and how well you look after the razor, as well as how well the razor holds its edge.

It all depends on your stropping technique. Poor stropping technique can ruin an edge the first time it's done.

    Default 200 Stainless Steel Really?

I read the claims that the 200 is stainless steel. I handle a large volume of the GDs and done some comparison checks. I don't see the 200 as SS. Where is the reference that says that they are? Don't get me wrong. If they are SS, their price makes them a incredible find. I do handle many stainless steel razors from customers. I also have a few in my rotation. I just don't see that the 200 is stainless.
