I read somewhere that the purpose behind multi-razor sets, aside from showing off and the convenience of less-frequent honing, was that the edge "relaxes" between shaves if you let it sit for at least a day. The claim was that shaving creates a kind of wire edge that will ease back into place slowly if you let it rest, but will just get broken off and thus dull the razor more quickly if you strop it too soon. Thus everyone should have at least two razors and alternate them.

But I'm a newbie and don't know nothin'. Any opinions?

Two of the same razors? Do we not have two arms, two hands, two legs, two eyes etc.? The necessities of life come in pairs. Embrace the resilience and enjoy.
