Thanked: 2Antique Shop Finds
Went to an antique mall with my dad while I was on leave from germany and found these great razors. I was wondering if maybe you could give me any info about these blades and maybe their age. Thank You!
First this a Dubl Duck Special No. 1 it has almost no hone wear and is in almost new condition. I have not cleaned it at all for these pics. I payed $20 for this one and I would like to use it for shaving.
This is also the box that it came in. Is it posible this the orginal box? Im from Green Bay WI so I just thought it would be cool to have razor that was sold in a WI boa from Germany. Also any idea on the age of this blade? Thanx Everyone!

#2 This is a Bengal that I have honed and haved with and it is an Awsome Shaver. these pics were taken after very little cleaning. I paid $20 for this one. I beleive this is a 7/8 blade. Nice heavy duty scales on it. I believe it is the orginal box.

#3 Is a Cattaraugus Cutlery w/ a lizard on the scales. I got exited cause it was in a Hboker box but this blade was inside. I think it is a pretty good blade though. I have not cleaned it at all and have not honed it yet so I will let you know how good it shaves later. Pivot is good and shouldnt need too much work. I paid $15 for this one.

#4 is my favorite. It is Karl Engels & Son, Wald Germany. I have never heard of it but the blade has so much personality. I had been repaired at one time with a make shift pivot and I am not sure if the red scale is original. It has a super cool spine on it. This is cleaned and honed and it is SUPA SHARP! I love it. I was $15 dollars and marked 1/2 off so I got it for $7.50.

Congrats on a great find. All are good shavers. For info on the razors look in the database in the WIKI just under the logo at the top of the screen. Others may jump in and comment on age. Aren't antique shop finds just GREAT!!

Thanked: 1Those seem like some pretty decent prices from what I have seen down here for old razors. Nice finds!

Congratulations! Makes me want to make the antique store rounds again this week. Now you want to find a great hone, like an Escher, to hone those nice blades on! I use my antique store Escher for most of my razors now.

You really did make off like a bandit. And as a generous Robin Hood type of bandit you obviously will give them to the needy. Let me give you my address...
Anyways. Congrats!
