$12 find
Anyone here able to help identify the time period on these? I've checked the wiki and don't see an exact match up on the Wade & Butcher. Not a lot of info out there on the Hope Cutlery Co either. Anyone care to point me in the right direction?

From the information I've gotten on Wade and Butcher in the short time I've been here my guess would be mid 1800's. There are people on the forum that can probably get you a whole lot closer than that though.
By the way looks like a great find for 12 beans.

Hope cutlery 1900 to 1907
Wade and Butcher I believe to be 1819 to the 1920's
Your W&B looks to be (I would guess) 1860's to 1880's but not newer than the 1890's as there is no country of origin stamped on the tang, only the city.Last edited by JMS; 10-18-2009 at 02:34 AM.

Probably an 1880s blade-- hollow grinds like that didn't start showing up until later in the 1800s.
