    Default Meat choppers ?

I'm constantly outbid on meat choppers from popular brands here, so I was wondering if anyone had a list of brands that make this type of razor. I'm bidding for months now and am always outbid in the last second by somebody else The typical W&B blade is what I'm after, but they seem to be a little difficult to obtain (not to find, but with the outbidding in the last second bit :-))

    Thanks!

Patients, young man, patients. I was looking for a Wade & Butcher 8/8 -"For Barbers Use" for a while. I finally got one for $77.

    Before and after shots.

Bid what you are willing to pay. Sooner or later you'll win.

all you need to do is go on the eBay and check out all the auctions.
Brands that I know have meet choppers:
    Wade & Butcher
    Frederick Raynolds
    Joseph Rogers
    and many more Sheffield razors.
    THIS
is what I got yesterday, it is 7/8 rather than 8/8 but you can see that other makers make those blades, just need to be patient

Or......you could set your max bid at three times higher than you have been. If anything, you'll increase your chances.

Regardless of the maker, big blades tend to fetch high prices. Your best bet is to search ebay with a generic "straight razor -x" and pick out what you're looking for. You can bid low and bid often if you're patient, or find something you're willing to shell out for and use ChrisL's strat. You are most likely to find a chopper from one of the older Sheffield makers.

Look at ALL the razors on ebay. I´ve just bought a 8/8 Joseph Elliot made in 1851 for US$ 29.00.

I think rodgers has made the most BIG pretty ones. I got a good deal on an 8/8, got an okay deal on a 9/8. but overall, my new plan is when it comes time I'll just buy a custom that fits the bill, then it will be exactly what I want. I know it is more money, but it's something to consider.

Not yet. Still waiting for it to arrive (it can take anywhere from 10 to 90 days for it to be delivered in Brazil, due to customs inspections).

Hmm, I don't even want one other than to resell it. I prefer a 5-6/8's for shaving all day long
