JoeD has a very similar blade - same frosted logo on the tang. I've had a different SSA, and it was a great shaver.

SSA(Svenska Stalsmides Aktieb) - Swedish Steel Forging Company(1918-1920) was the successor to Johan Engstrom. The director was Fahle Hammar.
This is very good razor, as all Swedish razors.Last edited by manah; 10-22-2009 at 03:48 AM.

Thanks Holli. I was so pleased with the first that we now have 3 and all are very smooth shavers. Two of them had scale issues, one still does nut they are still functional. My son ans I are always anxious to use them when they come into rotation.

I have one in 4/8. Frosted SSA on the tang. The blade IIRC has a frosted "HERMES" etch. Cracked black scales. This razor needs to be rescaled so I haven't shaved with it.
