    Default Thiers Issard without documentation?

I have a 5/8 hollow ground Thiers Issard that I am trying to sell for a friend. Unfortunately I do not have the documentation stating that the razor is Thiers Issard? Will I still be able to get a good price without the papers. Is the razor itself recognizable as Thiers Issard and if so what are the key markers?

    Thanks

well Glen has the same Eagle razor with worked back and spanish point.
So as far as gold wash and scale shape that is TI.
I can't remember 100% but the pouch also should say Tiers Issard, at least my two do.If you can find the same razor on some online store then you have the proof.

I am fairly new to the straight razor scene, but what does "TI" mean?

Thanks for the lesson. I own two DOVO razors myself, but I do see TI's in the classicshaving.com site. Are these razors any good? And if so what would be a good asking price?

    Thanks

They are great blades, but as everyone has said, the scales are absolute trash. A good asking price would be... free given to me. We don't really do valuing here, but if it is in great shape, go about 1/4 or 1/3 or even 2/5 less than the price of an equally pretty new TI.

I have had 3 TIs and I liked them all as shavers. Their QC needs some improvement, but overall they are fairly highly regarded. I haven't owned that exact model, but I would suspect it's a fine razor. As far as pricing is concerned, TI's run in the 150-300 range new.

    Default Thiers-Issard . . .

    Gentlemen,

In my state as a straight razor pilgrim, I agree with all about the Thiers-Issard scales inferiority complex. The contrast between the quality of the blade and the scales is puzzling. I don't quite understand it. There are some exceptions, of course, and I have two of those exceptions in my small collection of razors. Still, it is generally agreed that somebody at Thiers-Issard loves to do the fandango on the scales.

    Regards,

    Obie
