Default Looking for a Broken 3/8

Not broken as in some SR brand you never heard of but actually a razor that is not in reasonable condition.

Years ago I had skin transplanted from on place to another which means I have to shave the spot where the skin was moved to (its a long story). Anyways a normal SR is too big for shaving, and to avoid shaving with a mach 3 I've been using one of those break razors (box cutter).

so.... I was considering trying a 3/8 razor since the break razor I'm using is 3/8 wide, but I only need the cutting edge to be an inch long (if that). I've been keeping and eye on the bay and such but found nothing suitable yet.

So if anyone has a razor that is cracked/chipped half way down the blade or just not worth restoring. PM me with a picture and what you would require to part with it.

I plan on grinding a 3/8 down to a mini SR to see if that will work for me.

    Baron-
I've got an old, ugly wedge made by someone whose name is obscured by rust. It's a 4/8, probably 3/8 or 7/16ths by the time you honed a good edge on it. The toe is honed down beyond hope of anything except a regrind... being a wedge it would be a lot safer/easier to grind down than a hollow.

The scales are...well, excretamenta. One side must have been subjected to a lot of heat, because the celluloid is very shrunken... and it was re-pinned with what look like roofing nails.

I got if for a couple of dollars and have been using it to open letters. For the cost of shipping I'd be happy to give it to you. If you're in no rush, I could have it tumbled to a good polish for you too.

Anyhow, I'll get you pictures later. Off to dinner with friends tonight.

There was a Double Duck on fleabay a few weeks ago that was a shortened one (not cut down either) for small areas.

I also found one in my box of tricks. Looks like someone already did what you want to it. PM me if you have not found what you want.

That seems like a good reason to root around in the "needs work" bin. Please let us know if you get one but I'll take a peek later today for you as well. In fact, that might be a really fun project! I understand the 3/8 width and one inch length, but, do you want it as a normal hinged blade or would a stationary handle work better for you?

wow, I didn't expect such a fast and helpful response from everyone. I'll try to answer everyone's questions in one post...

So far I have not found what I'm looking for yet, I have gotten a pm about a 4/8 but I'm waiting for some pictures.

Scales don't matter cause will just make new ones if necessary and stationary or folding would do fine.

The blade pictured above is pretty close to what I'm looking for but I would have to grind the point down to look a like an exaggerated Spanish point so I can get up under the fingernail (this is also why I'm looking for a narrow razor).

Ultimately I wouldn't mind having one for home and one to put in my desk at work but I'd be happy enough with one

and just so you guys got a better idea of what I'm working with here...
