Default Could it be a wacker?

    Hey guys,

I got this razor, a Weltmeister, on the cheap. Unfortunately it'll take another week to get the damn thing so I'm left with this picture. I'm wondering, I only now noticed Wacker on the box, does anyone know if this could indeed be a wacker or just a box which does not match with the razor? Would be a cool surprise if it were a Wacker, I've been wondering how they are. It is supposed to come with its original box, but I can imagine a lot of people not knowing if it is actually the real box or not. Or does wacker sell boxes separately also?

Maybe, maybe not. I've bought several vintage razors including a box, but rarely did they come with the original box in spite of what the seller may claim.

Patience !! You'll notice soon enough when you receive it. I own a Wacker (no vintage though) and the engravement says so ...

Yeah, but I know he also engraves on the other side in case the 'good side' is already spoken for (in this case, for Weltmeister).

Can't comment of it being wacker or not. And sorry to rain on your parade, but that you might want to check that rust at the heel and scales before letting that mingle with your other razors. Could be that the spottings just due to moisture, but there's always a chance of cell rot, since it kinda matches the transparency pattern in the scales

I do hope that some more knowledgeable people chime in, my experience is somewhat limited, but I've ran across a few...

Thanks for the tip :-) I keep none of my razors together, I have very few (two shave ready) so it's not a hard thing to do. This one, is a result of late night bidding and nobody overbidding, it was the pric of an entrance ticket to the movies nowadays, and just as big a gamble of going to see a good/bad movie

But yes, it does look like cell rot. I wonder if there's a way to make sure if it is or isn't? I'm planning on making scales anyhow, so wouldn't mind at all, but want to be sure.

The Wacker box was for a Wacker razor made by an older member of the Wacker family. His family has been in the razor business for multiple generations.
