I bought mine from pita_60 and after the info started surfacing that the razors they sell might be fakes, I have had several doubts about this one as there is close to NO info on it anywhere.. And when I saw yours I am almost certain that mine is a fake.
Luckily I didn't pay much for it.

Thanked: 3164I wouldn't be too downhearted - I have had two exactly like yours, honed them, used them and they performed excellently. One of the german forums (can't remember which one) said that they were 1930s in origin, although they looked more like 1950s to me.
I can't imagine why someone would fake a little-known makers product - especially when the product could have been marketed as new and is such a good performer - doesn't make sense to me.
Regards,
Neil

Well that's good news. I still haven't had it honed, but now I think I will.. after all, like you say there really wouldn't be much sense in faking an unknown brand of straight razors.. If at all it would be profitable to fake razors I guess they would go for filas or dubl ducks.

If you had bothered to read through all the posts you would see that we already came to that conclusion without your help..
Most likely you did read through it all and just felt the need to rebuke.
My initial concerns came after reading this thread..
I have it on good authority that this 260515120357 is fake.
I understand from a pro restorer that it may be pakastani. It will not take an edge. This is from Altima55, or Bob Keyes. He was able to get his money back...Here's his email:
Check this out, 260515120357, In case you don't know about these. These and others are flooding the market now. Quite good looking, but definitely counterfeits, all marked with German printing or made in Germany, etc.. I bought one of these exactly like it along with another different German fake from pita_60.
I honed them up, or at least tried to and they acted like any other Paki sh**. they wouldn't get even the slightest bit shave ready. When I asked pita_60, who is Livia and Cesar Aguillon in Oak Forest, Indiana for a refund, they gave me one with not too much trouble.Last edited by MisterA; 02-22-2010 at 11:08 PM.

Thanked: 0Just stumbled upon this site I see that the post is a little old but. I found it interesting I know my ancestors form Germany were metal workers but they migrated in the late 1860's. I would love to get my hands on one just for the nostalgia. I love straight razor shaves but to own one with my last name would be even better.

Thanked: 19Just an update for archive purposes in case anyone is interested in this in future...
I have acquired one of these Busold razors. The scales are almost identical, slight variation in pattern, and the tang appears to be etched rather than engraved, which I would guess makes it a later model.
