I would say that for any of us that have aquired more than a few razors, there are some that indeed do stand out on their own, even amongst others of the same make & model.

I have honed up >30 or so Double Arrow/Gold Dollars. Most are very capable shavers, and take a nice edge, but every now and then I seem to get one that really is super-nice and smooth like a fine Solingen. I had that experience just yesterday. I really had a fantastic shave, as good as any other out there. I can't therefore claim Gold Dollar razors overall to be the bee's knees, but I certainly can claim that particular Gold Dollar as being a singularly nice shaver.

    Just saying...
Bear in my mind that that owner has a particular tendency to get rather hyped up about this and that and proclaim it the best ever, and then shortly thereafter hype something else as the best ever. And I think he even created a shave soap that he thought would have a unique synergy with the alloy of steel in a feather ac, so there's a tendency there to veer towards creative science. I may be confusing my myths, but you put together the ludicrousness of the claims with the well known excitability (to use a nice word) of the claimer, and it all adds up to pretty implausible.

Other razors stored in the same area did not show any signs of such rust. Just thought I’d mention it just in case yours might be suffering from the same symptoms.
Thanks for the heads-up. I just pulled mine out and checked it and it looks fine. Mine has a plain cream handle, not the faux-tortoise, and that type seems much less prone to decomposition.

    I thought you'd never ask

This rarely seen shot was taken by a daring individual who was never heard from again. The film was discovered clutched between the right hoof of an albino unicorn which had drowned with the titanic - although I cannot reveal my source, suffice it to say that this photo will self destruct at a time which neither man nor beast mayest know. Look at your own risk, I will not discourage you with understated tales of the curse that bears the full weight of those who disparage the Chronik. Let's just say those who fable it never fail to rue their foolish skepticism

Here is the last member, that I know of, who bad mouthed the Chronik. Notice he needs a shave. Nuff said.

No you got that wrong Jimmy, he used to be a normal healthy 25 year old model and after one shave with that razor that's what happened to him. That's the after picture. We need to find the before for comparison.

Here he is when he first gazed upon the Chronik just before the shave .... if anyone is worried about the same fate, send me your Chroniks for safe disposal at the bottom of the sea.
