Thanked: 15Yes and no. The feather is a very sturdy and expensive disposable straight, where as the Shavette is a much less expensive. Again, never having used or much less seen one in person, I couldn't say, but the cost difference alone says it all. The least expensive Feather is $89.00 and the most expensive is $249.00. A Shavette is what ~$30.00?

Thanked: 0seems like i shouldnt even bother with these since no one has really commented on them, i thought it would be a good neck shaving, and styling, outlining tool.

The DOVO shavette is an excellent shaver in a skilled hand. I bought one to use as a travel razor. The DOVO has three blade options: half a normal DE, half a special shavette blade or a long personna single edge. Mine came with the DE option. The shaves are as close as any razor can give. However, it takes a light hand and a shallow angle or it nicks quickly. Much more than a regular straight. It is a good benchmark for sharpness when evaluating your straight technique.
I just purchased the other blade options to test their effectiveness. I am beginning with the personna tomorrow and use it for three days and will follow with the DOVO blade. I will comment after each three day set and then in summary.

Thanked: 0no need to take personal, bud. i was just hoping for some responses from people who have tested these razors. but i appreciate the response, the feather seems nice but its a tad pricey. i wonder how sturdy the dovo is thats what im mot concerned with, i want to know if theres much play with the blad, does it move around in the holder or is it stury. is the dovo cheaply made is my main concern
