I went to the flea market the other day and as usual I was keeping my eye open for straight razors. When I see someone with a lot of old stuff on their table I always ask if they have any razors or sharpening stones. Sometimes I get lucky and the other day was the best. A guy said I have a few. He then reached in his truck and sat a box on the table about a foot square. It was more than half full of straight razors. About 20 percent of them were snaggle toothed rusted, Chiped, and broken beyond any hope. The rest were mostly intact. some rust on them and a lot of rust on some and some very lightly rusted. Now get this! I found nine BOKERS and six of them had good scales. He wanted from fifteen to thirty dollars for them. I only had the money for three but he said he would be there every week and would bring them with him. What a jackpot. I have already re handled one of them that had no handles and was marked, "RADIUM" with curly maple handles and sharpened and shaved with it. It is great. The other two have good handles and are marked KING CUTTER. I am going to restore them as best I can. As soon as I figure out how to do the picture thing here I will post pics of them. I am really excited!!!
