Thread: Info on DD Stainless

Now that I have her, I'm getting curious. Anyone know when these were made or have any information on the steel? For those that have them, how are the shaves? How do they compare to other stainless blades?

Sorry to have to tell you this but the DD Stainless was just about the last razor they sold and they were made by none other than Dovo. They were probably made in the late 50s or very early 60s before they switched gears and became more of a beauty supply store.

Personally I think they shave about the same as all the other ducks and like most stainless take a few extra trips on the hone. The stainless razors I have shave the same as Carbon Steel to me. If I was blindfolded I couldn't tell the difference.

I knew that Dovo was making razors for DD, and I figured the stainless would be more recent, so I'm not at all disappointed to hear that it was made by Dovo - especially considering that Dovo made great razors.
