I agree with you holli4pirating.. If you are not a honer and you buy a Gold Dollar for say $15, you then have to ship it out to a honer. Depending on where you live it could cost up to $15 then you pay $15-20 for the honing and then up to $15 to ship it back. What you have then is a Chinese made, low quality razor that cost you from $40 to $65. How is that cheap? I have only payed over $60 for a razor once or twice. And what I got then was a shave ready razor made by a company with hundreds of years of experience. Most of my other razors I have bought shave ready for $25-35..
And then you have the problem when you possibly would want to sell one or two of the razors. The gold dollar will get you $8-15 tops.. Who would buy a used oned for more when new ones cost $14? And vintage razors? Not only do you have a fantastic razor of undisputable quality. You have a piece of history.. an antique. An item of beauty that was made 70-250 years ago and STILL shaves just as well today. and as a bonus If you look after them the price will only go up, up, up..
