    My top 5 would be:

    - Any of the new Thiers Issard Carbonsong 135 razors.

    - Robert Williams Custom (highly recomended)

    - Vintage Joseph Rodgers & Sons

    - Bill Ellis Hybrid or Custom (very rare and hard to come by)

    - An old version Dovo #41 Inox.

BTW I have owned or still own all of these razors and they are my favorites. Good luck with the hunt.

    If we're including custom makers ;
    Robert Williams,
    Mastro Livi,
    Joe Chandler,
    L.W. Harner

    1) Joseph Rodgers & Sons
    2) Novelty Cutlery Co.
    3) Geo. Wolstenholm
    4)Kinfolks
    5) American Knife Co.

My best shaver is an early 1800's Bresancon Damascus, but I only have the 1 so I can't comment on the maker as a brand.

    Kindest regards,
    Alex

Puma, Heljestrand, E.A. Berg, Schlieper and Filarmonica. Not necessarily in that order.

OK, this is a bit out there price-wise ($250.00), but I bought a "close-out" presharpened Filarmonica from Classic Shaving and it is head and shoulders the best razor I have. It's so good that its' hard to describe. A close second is a Herbert Wacker, not cheap itself. Both are wide blades. In fact, I'm thinking about reducing my inventory to just a few, which would also include a TI and a Dovo.

If I tell you, you'll just go buy them all and there will be none left for me...

JR Torrey, the best steel out there! The rest are a matter of individual preference.
